Shadowplay is an Original Oil on Board Painting based on a visit to ‘The Old Schoolhouse’ in Dunquin County Kerry, Ireland. It was built as part of the set of Ryan’s Daughter. This is a classic film starring Robert Mitchum and Sarah Miles. We were staying in the beautiful town of Dingle and this old Schoolhouse is on the coastal drive from Dingle to Dunquin. It is a magical and wonderful area to drive. I was struck by the way the sunlight lit up this old building. I was also fascinated by the window looking out to the sea and I could imagine the pupils daydreaming about the endless possibilities across the vast ocean. Please contact me for more details
